The $5,000 Gaming PC Made By Apple? Here’s Why It’s Not a Crazy Idea

Would gamers shed $5,000 for a gaming PC from Apple? The answer could be yes or no, depending on each person’s budget. What made us think Apple and gaming PCs mix? A supply chain rumor suggests the Cupertino tech giant might join the gaming PC arena.

The “E-Sports PC” From Apple to Be Unveiled This Year

TechRadar reported that Apple is working on creating an “e-sports PC” that would cost $5,000. According to the report, we would see this PC either in the form of an iMac or an actual gaming laptop similar to the Razer Blade 17 Pro.

We should learn about this monster of a gaming PC being unveiled at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). As for a release date, we might see the “e-sports PC” being launched in 2021.

Why Apple’s Gaming PC Is Not a Crazy Idea

While Apple is not famous for its gaming world, we must agree that with launching Apple Arcade in 2019, they did begin a healthy relationship with major AAA publishers like Sega, Ubisoft, Warner Bros., and Capcom. Aside from their $5 monthly subscription service filled to the brim with games for iOS, Mac, and Apple TV, we must agree that Apple also brings high-end desktop hardware to the table.

Yes, we’re talking about the massive cheese grater Mac Pro that costs $5,999 and can be configured up to $52,199 if you want it to have a 28-core CPU, 1.5TB of RAM, dual Radeon Duo GPUs and a 4TB SSD.

And since Apple is one of the big players that is missing a dedicated gaming line, it wouldn’t be surprising for them to bring a gaming PC or a gaming laptop to break the idea that Macs are not made for games. With a dedicated gaming line from Apple, more developers would create titles that support Mac.

While games like Rocket League, Fortnite, World of Warcraft, and League of Legends support Mac, other popular titles like Apex Legends or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare do not support Apple’s operating system. As with all rumors, we should take this one with a grain of salt. WWDC is only a few months away, and we’ll soon see if Apple does have its mind set on creating a gaming PC/laptop line.

  1. Seriously, NO !
Only an Apple fanboy would consider buying this at such a ridiculous price IF it was to be released.
For the rest of the world (read most of the world), the whole idea is hilarious.

If you want to seriously game buy a PC (at half the price) or even a console at considerably less.
Apple are really a joke of a computer company company these days and the only thing sustaining them is their mobile division. Actually, in the future it would be more likely that they drop computers from their line altogether let alone create a ‘gaming’ PC.

    • youre wrong. Apple laptops are used so much for so many different things. coders use them, college students use them. businesses are starting to use them. I think apple may one day dominate over microsoft.
