If you thought that iPhone 11 or Huawei Mate 30 Pro are packing exaggerated vast camera capabilities, then you have to take a good look at the new Mi CC9 Pro created by Xiaomi. Once again, the proverbial workaholism of the Chinese people is confirmed. Hoping you’ll not fall off your chair, bear in mind that the new smartphone has a 108 MP main camera. Yes, that’s right! Three digits!!!
The Asian company teased the launch of the Mi CC9 Pro on Weibo today, October 28. It shows the staggering five cameras setup on the rear, along with a 5x optical zoom. Even though we can imagine what jaw-dropping photos we could take with such an outstanding camera setup (probably spotting every acne on a man’s body from a mile away) we still don’t know for sure why was the fifth lens built on the phone.
Official presentation on November 5
Xiaomi says it’ll be holding an event for its Mi CC9 Pro phone on November 5. This is not the first time the Chinese company creates such out-of-this-world phone since the Mi Mix Alpha released last month had a similarly powerful camera rig – 108 MP as well. But is it worth it putting that much power on a phone camera? Would people buy such a phone?
For those who don’t know, Xiaomi is a Chinese electronics company founded by Lei Jun about nine years ago in 2010 and headquartered in the capital Beijing. According to Wikipedia, Xiaomi is making smartphones, mobile apps, laptops, MI Television, Shoes, fitness bands, trimmers, earphones, and many others. Ranked 468th, Xiaomi is the youngest company from Fortune Global 500 List for 2019.
Xiaomi released its first smartphone eight years ago, in August 2011, and it rapidly gained market share in China to become the country’s largest smartphone company in 2014.
Is Xiaomi slowly surpassing the big rival Huawei? With a 108 MP camera setup for a phone, everything seems possible.
