Add contacts to Home Screen

Here’s how you can do this: choose the favorite contact, open the settings menu, click on “more” and go for adding a shortcut. Therefore a shortcut with the chat of that person will be added to the home screen.
View unknown contacts
What if you want to know more about the identity of some stranger who is contacting you via SMS or simply calling you by the phone and making stupid pranks or blackmailing you? Then you should just simply save the number in your agenda with any name, let’s say “The Stranger”, and when you open WhatsApp you’ll be seeing a profile photo and a nickname of the stranger if he uses the app and has completed his profile a bit. And most of the people are using it nowadays. You can also instantly see profile photos and nicknames of people you don’t know in group chats, and the same applies to anybody who is contacting you by WhatsApp.
Two-step verification
The good old two-step verification is also used by WhatsApp, and it will add the possibility for you to add a PIN code six digits long every time you register WhatsApp on a new phone or device. To do this, go to Settings > Account > Two-step verification.
