Almost everybody uses WhatsApp nowadays, and that speaks for itself of how great this app is. Offering video calls, end-to-end encryption, self-destructing messages, dark theme, and many other useful features, WhatsApp is a true blessing for technology and human interaction.
But you know what they say that you just can’t have them all in life, and that also applies to WhatsApp. The Facebook-owned service adds a time limit for videos used as statuses: 16 seconds. Thankfully or not, this only applies to the people from India.
It’s only temporary
We have plenty of reasons to believe that this situation is temporary, especially for the fact that WAbetainfo claims it. After all, the time limit shouldn’t bother anybody too much. Why would you need to use a long video as a status, anyway? WAbetainfo also declares:
You can no longer send videos to WhatsApp Status if they are longer than 16 seconds: only videos having a duration of 15 seconds will be allowed. This is happening in India and it’s probably an initiative to reduce the traffic on the server infrastructures,
However, not all of the inhabitants from India received the time limit update until now. But in the near future, it’s expected that the whole Asian nation will face the situation when videos used as statuses have to be at a maximum of 16 seconds long.
Exciting upcoming features
The developers of WhatsApp have great plans for their instant messaging app. They are still working on improving the dark mode, but also features like QR Code Button, Search Image, Advanced Search, In-App Browser, or Boomerang, are awaited for the app.
WhatsApp recently reached 2 billion users worldwide, which is truly staggering considering that in 2017, the app had only 1.5 billion users. WhatsApp seems like an empire that doesn’t plan on slowing down pretty soon regarding both efficiency and popularity.
