Are you a fan of the history series genre? Then you must have heard about The Last Kingdom. The series is available on Netflix and BBC Two, so give it a try if you haven’t already.
This British historical fiction series is based on Bernard Cornwell’s books. The first ten episodes were available on BBC America back in 2015. However, the second season continued to be broadcast on BBC Two in the UK back in 2017. The BBC America situation led the show to be co-created by Netflix; however, it was split starting November 19, 2018.
We are now at The Last Kingdom Season 4, and the story keeps getting more and more enjoyable.
The story is about Vikings invading the lands occupied by the Anglo-Saxons. However, a kid named Uhtred is caught between the two tribes as he is a born Saxon and raised a Viking. He faces lots of conflicts and internal struggles as he needs to pick a side of the tribes. Which one would you choose if you were in his place? Your origination or the home of your childhood?
He decides to join King Alfred as his supporting hand in wars; however, when Ragnar the Younger invites him, his heart melt. Uhtred picks his own territory to protect, but it looks like the faith sets up a different path for him.
The Last Kingdom Season 4 will feature another plot as well. The story will focus on Uhtred’s younger siblings. However, we don’t have too much info on this subject, so let’s wait for the trailer.
