Take-Two Reveals How the Release of GTA 6 will Impact GTA 5

GTA 5 doesn’t need any kind of presentation left, and its online mode (aka GTA Online) keeps receiving weekly updates from the developers. From open-world games and RPG’s, GTA 5 is without a doubt among the best titles available. But the fans of the series clearly want even more from a sequel, considering that technology in general and gaming, in particular, keep evolving.

Will GTA 6 make the fans forget about GTA 5 forever? Will the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game bring a more diversified map, better gameplay, and more interesting characters? Only time will answer these questions, but Take-Two (the parent company of Rockstar) also has something important to say.

GTA 6’s arrival doesn’t mean the end of GTA 5

This is what CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, claims. Zelnick didn’t confirm if GTA 6 already is under development, but we know that the answer is ‘yes’ due to Rockstar insiders. Zelnick spoke hypothetically about the idea of a successor to be running on platforms alongside GTA V.

Zelnick compared the Grand Theft Auto series to the sports simulator NBA 2K, and he said the following:

What actually happened was that when we launched NBA 2K Online 2, it turned out to be a massive hit

And guess what? The audience was still stable and growing for NBA 2K Online itself, the first title. So we kept them both up and they’re both up to this day,

There’s no word from Rockstar about when GTA 6 will be released, but we should expect it to happen soon. This is currently the biggest gap that the fans had to wait until the release of a Grand Theft Auto title, and who knows for how long it will still last.

GTA 5 was released in 2013, and it’s available for a generous set of platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
