Red Dead Redemption 2: New Update Brings Bug Fixes for The PC Version

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been around for quite a while, being released by Rockstar Games in October 2018. RDR2 is the epic tale of an outlaw and the infamous Van der Linde gang, as they run across America at the dawn of the modern age.

After almost two years when RDR2 gathered over 600,000 players online, the game just received a new update. The update only brings a series of bug fixes, as you probably have already seen if you had been playing the game recently.

Change log

No new content is involved in the update, but still there are some useful fixes. Therefore, get prepared 1.60GB from your storage space, and you’ll get:

  • Fixed random crashes that occurred during Story Mode and Red Dead Online.
  • Fixed a crash that occurs when switching from one output device to another on system configurations with multiple graphics cards.
  • Fixed a problem that stopped the game from launching on several system configurations that have been using a dedicated AMD graphics card alongside an Intel integrated graphics device that’s unsupported.
  • Fixed a problem that stopped the game from launching for some low-end system configurations when using DirectX 12.
  • Fixed a problem with a memory leak that occurred when using DirectX 12, which leads to increased RAM usage and possible crashes during extended game sessions.
  • Fixed a crash that occurs when launching RDR2 on certain hardware configurations.

However, you need a decent configuration to be able to play RDR2 on your PC. The game still runs on Windows 7, which is surprising considering that the good old operating system is no longer supported by Microsoft. Further, you’ll need a minimum of 8GB for the RAM, 150 GB available space on the hard disk, and a 2GB for the graphics card. The minimum supported is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or something equivalent.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for PC, the usual consoles (Xbox One and PS4), and the Google Stadia service.
