Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC powers OnePlus Nord

According to TechRadar, OnePlus co-founder Mr. Carl Pei admitted that OnePlus Nord would be running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. This information is in accordance with the previous survey from OnePlus.

Previous rumors

Not long ago, OnePlus confirmed its next low-cost smartphones: the OnePlus Nord series. Previous rumors got the name wrong. We won’t see a OnePlus 8 Lite or OnePlus Z lineup.

According to previous leaks, we can now look at the next series’s presumable design and camera hardware. However, until the company confirmed the processor, the internet was full of contradictory speculations.

In the beginning, we heard rumors about OnePlus Nord being powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC. Not long after this rumor, a new assumption came to life—one that turned out to be correct—that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765 SoC powers OnePlus Nord series. Hence, OnePlus Nord is also featuring 5G connectivity.

The news was also shared on Twitter, stating that a “Snapdragon 5G chipset” will power the new OnePlus lineup.

“Excited to be working with @OnePlus_UK as they embark on #NewBeginnings powered by a #Snapdragon 5G chipset! #OnePlusNord”

OnePlus survey

The previous survey from OnePlus is mentioning the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. The survey was about whether users would be interested in acquiring a smartphone featuring certain specifications and at a specific price. For example, if they would buy a smartphone featuring a Snapdragon 765G SoC, a 64MP triple camera setup, a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging, and a 90Hz refresh rate display at the price of ₹24,990.
