Persona 5 happens in modern-day Tokio. The protagonist is Joker, and the story follows his transfer to Shujin Academy after he was falsely accused of assault. During the school year, he and some other students find out they have special powers, and they become a secret group that’s called the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. They go explore the Metaverse, which is a supernatural realm that’s born from humanity’s subconscious desires. They plan to steal the spiteful intent from the hearts of adults.
In the previous games from the series, the enemies are known as Shadows, and it’s the same in this game. They are using the physical manifestations of their psyche, which is known as the Persona – hence the name of the game. There are many social simulation scenarios that you’ll enjoy.
