Nokia has done a spectacular come-back in the manufacturing of phones. And although the Finnish company is far from the 1998-2006 era in terms of notoriety, it released some impressive smartphones. Now, Nokia 8.2 is expected to be one hell of a phone, and some optimistic voices claimed it would be released by the end of the year. Unfortunately, we have to wait for more than that.
Now we have new leaks about the 8.2 model of Nokia, and specs are looking absolutely sweet.
Snapdragon 700 chipset
HMD Global confirmed since September this year that they will release a Snapdragon 700 series chipset smartphone in 2020. We have reasons to believe that the Nokia 8.2 might be the lucky handset.
The new chipset comes with an AI engine, and it was revealed by Qualcomm to have a 7nm process, which will result in better performance and size.
Release date and price
A post from a Nokia fan blog suggested that the late February of 2020 will be the moment of Nokia 8.2’s launch.
The starting price is expected to be around $500.
Camera
One of the most stunning features of Nokia 8.2 is the camera, which is expected to be out of this world. The primary camera will consist of a 64MP sensor based quad camera setup.
The Night Mode output will be enhanced, and it might give a better performance than the same feature on Nokia 7.2.
The handset is also expected to have 5G support, as any other respectable gadget may have until 2020. The 8.2 model will be the successor of 8.1, which also had some pretty amazing specs: 6 GB of RAM, 6.18 inches display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels, chipset of Qualcomm SDM710 Snapdragon 710 (10 nm), CPU of Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz 360 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 360 Silver), main dual camera of 12 MP, f/1.8, 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, dual pixel PDAF, OIS and 13 MP, with Zeiss optics, dual-LED dual-tone flash, panorama, HDR. The video recording also wasn’t bad: 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30fps (gyro-EIS).
