Nintendo is Preparing New Games for Mobile Devices

Nintendo is a true behemoth when it comes to the fascinating world of gaming, and it doesn’t need any kind of presentation anymore. We can remind ourselves about the legendary Nintendo Entertainment System, the ancestor for some gaming machines from nowadays and also the trigger for the gaming journey of many of us. But time is like a tyrant who doesn’t spare anybody, as that console became obsolete long ago. But now there’s the Nintendo Switch console, and it isn’t the only amazing and useful thing the Japanese company has made for the gaming world from nowadays.

Within a follow-up conference call, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa explained how his company is focused on the operation of six existing applications and how it is continuing to develop even new ones. And yes, games can also be considered applications! Furukawa declared:

“Considering how we will position our mobile business in the future, we are not necessarily looking to continue releasing many new applications for the mobile market as much as we are looking at the continuation of our mobile business as a way to make active use of Nintendo IP (game characters, worlds, and so on) in the interest of maximizing the entirety of Nintendo’s business. For us, the direct purpose of releasing mobile applications is to bring games that use Nintendo IP to the large install base of smart devices worldwide, bringing more consumers into contact with the worlds of Nintendo games and also bringing ongoing services to fans of individual Nintendo IP on mobile platforms.”

Surely mobile gaming represents a great and fun way of making time flow faster, whether you’re a fan of it or you prefer the more efficient way of enjoying games through consoles or PC.

The Nintendo Switch can also be considered a mobile gaming platform, and it gained huge notoriety since its release in 2017.  The company has sold 55.77 million units of the console/handheld hybrid.
