Minecraft Earth AR Game Could Revive The Popularity Of The Famous Franchise

Minecraft was one of the most popular game franchises in the world, and it is still a popular video game. It is available on every platform and is an excellent game, attracting both children and young adults. However, Minecraft’s popularity has decreased over time, but that might change soon with the release of Minecraft Earth AR game.

In May 2019, Mojang announced Minecraft Earth, the company’s first release in the AR games industry that attracted a high number of players worldwide with titles like Pokemon Go and, more recently, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Minecraft Earth wants to compete with the two before-mentioned games directly.

Minecraft Earth Beta launched in August

Mojang released a Minecraft Earth Beta in August of this year, and it is available in Seattle, London, Tokyo, Stockholm, and Mexico City. Minecraft Earth Beta, as well as the final version that will come sometime in the future, will only be available on AR-compatible smartphones, running Android 7 or newer and iOS 10 or higher.

The development of Minecraft Earth AR game for Android looks like proceeding slower than on iOS. Minecraft Earth Beta for iOS, for example, rolled out in July. Hopefully, both Minecraft Earth Android and iOS versions will come out at the same time when the final version of the game will be done.

Minecraft Earth to revive the popularity of the Minecraft franchise

Although Minecraft releases on different platforms still enjoy a vast number of players from all over the world, the franchise’s popularity decreased in the last years. Mojang hopes that the launch of the Minecraft Earth AR game would revive the series’ popularity and return some players to Minecraft and attract many of the AR games fans.

Minecraft Earth release date

Mojang did not reveal an official Minecraft Earth release date. However, rumors suggest that the new AR game will come out by the end of 2019. And that might be indeed true since the rollout of the Minecraft Earth Beta version already happened last month, so the development of the game might get close to the end.
