Microsoft has confirmed the release of the Surface Headphones 2, along with the Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3. The headphones have a similar design, but with better and more features that Microsoft promises to enhance the audio experience significantly. Surface Headphones 2 might arrive as a direct rival of Apple’s Beats. The full list of specs and features is now available, and they truly bring some of the best settings so far.
Surface Headphones 2 Specs and Features
Surface Headphones 2 is launched with enhanced battery life, active noise cancellation, and the Qualcomm’s aptX support. It also features up to 13 levels of noise cancellation, a power button, a volume dial on the right ear cup, volume dial, and a noise cancellation dial on the left ear cup.
The ear cups of the headphones support now a signal-based volume control. Users can enjoy some sleek controls to adjust the ANC level accurately. Surface Headphones 2 will be available in matte black and light grey color variants, very different from what we’ve witnessed so far.
Moreover, the headphones have a 40mm “free edge” driver and output. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 with Qualcomm’s aptX Bluetooth codec, Windows 10, Android, iOS, and macOS platforms. And now, they are said to offer up to 30dB while passive noise cancellation will be no higher than 40dB. The headphones also have a 3.5mm audio connector and a USB.
As for the battery life, the new Surface Headphones 2 are said to be up for 20 hours with sound cancellation. The headphones can be utilized to answer calls, as well. The music can be played for almost an hour. Users can also enjoy the latest office integration. Microsoft will ship the Surface Headphones 2 starting on May 12 with a price tag of $249.
