Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 Definitive Editions are Arriving in Asian Rating Boards

Mafia is a very successful game series, presenting the criminal world of the gangsters. But the highlight of the series remains Mafia 2, a game that will live forever in the hearts of those who like open-world titles that showcase environments from the ’50s. The second installment of the series features legendary soundtracks, unforgettable shooting, and a compelling story.

Mafia 3, a game released 6 years ahead of the previous one, didn’t receive the same level of appreciation. Plenty of fans of the series were disappointed, but the game is still worth mentioning. There’s no wonder why the general perception was different, though: Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 had different developers.

Korea and Taiwan rating boards are showing their respect

Definitive Editions for both Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 are receiving ratings from The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea and the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee. This is not a surprising move at all, considering the huge fanbase of the series.

Mafia 2 has been developed by 2K Czech and published by 2K Games in August 2010 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Set within the fictional city of Empire Bay (based on New York City, but it also features aspects of Los Angeles and Chicago), the story follows a gangster named Vito Scaletta and his efforts to become a prestigious criminal. He is also a war veteran who gets caught up with the Mafia while trying to pay back his father’s debts.

Mafia 3 was developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games in October 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A version for macOS was also released in May 2017. The location of the game is set within the fictional New Bordeaux, which is based in New Orleans. The story follows Lincoln Clay, a guy willing to build a new crime organization for taking revenge on the Italian mob.

A Mafia 4 game is expected by the fans to arrive for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. There’s no official info about this, but the internet is flooded with rumors and speculations. However, even if a fourth installment will arrive for the Mafia series or not, the already existing games are exciting enough and worth playing.
