Counter-Strike is among the world’s most popular shooters ever, and it surely has a special place in the hearts of many gamers. Back at the beginning of the ’00s, the internet cafes were flooded with people playing the legendary Counter-Strike 1.6. Although it had some poor graphics judging by today’s standards in gaming, CS 1.6 had some iconic features like the realistic and piercing sound effects for the shooting, and of course: ‘de_dust2’ map, the most famous map in the history of Counter-Strike.
As for today, shooting games had evolved tremendously since the ’00s, but most of them didn’t have a huge impact as the Counter-Strike series had. One highly-played shooting game nowadays is Fortnite, available for a wide list of platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, macOS, Android, and iOS. It can be played online, and it has been developed by Epic Games and released only two and a half years ago, in July 2017. Therefore, somebody thought that it would be a good idea to have something from both Fortnite and the Counter-Strike series simultaneously.
Get Dust 2 by using a simple code
A very faithful recreation of the map de_dust2 or simply called Dust 2, can be accessed in Fortnite by using the following Creative code: [9908-4675-7557]. The adaptation of the iconic CS map has been created by a team of content creators who are working at Fortnite’s Creative game mode. They are called ‘Team Evolve’.
The recreated map comes as Fortnite’s official Search and Destroy mode. It unfolds like a game of Counter-Strike, and it was part of the Love and War event.
However, ‘de_dust2’ map isn’t available exclusively for Counter-Strike 1.6, but it’s in other versions of the legendary shooter series as well. The map is also present in the latest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but we believe that CS 1.6 provided the most popularity to it.
