If you’re one of the numerous gamers who enjoy open-world titles set in the ’40s and ’50s, than you surely know that the Mafia series will always be a great option. The second Mafia (Mafia II) could easily be considered the highlight of the series, as it was simply brilliant in all areas: story, graphics, sound effects, and music.
Mafia: Definitive Edition has been confirmed by 2K Games to arrive on August 28. It will be a remake for the first Mafia game, and it’ll come accompanied by the Mafia: Trilogy and as a stand-alone title that’s already available for pre-order.
Free Definitive Editions for Mafia 2 and Mafia 3
All you have to do in order to get your hands on a Definitive Edition for Mafia 2 or Mafia 3 is to own copies of the original versions of the games. Or to put it otherwise, you have to buy the two games that were released back in their old days – 2010 for Mafia 2 and 2016 for Mafia 3. 2K put it very clear in a blog post:

Mafia 2, the highlight of the series, is able to run smoothly even on low-end PCs despite its amazing graphics. All you need is a minimum of 1.5 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce 8600 / ATI HD2600 Pro or something better for the video card, and last but not least: a Pentium D 3Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ (Dual core) or something higher for the processor. Mafia 2 may actually be the best gangster game ever made and set in the ’40s and ’50s!
