How To Fix Microsoft Teams Issues Caused By The Recent Windows 10 Update

Microsoft Teams is a well-known collaboration service that lets users remotely stay in touch with their work team. The users’ experience is sometimes troubled by different issues and errors. And that’s a real concern. One of the most annoying problems that currently affect Teams users is related to the Windows 10 recent update KB4554364. People can no longer log in to their accounts after they’ve updated their systems.

Turn on Forms Authentication to Solve Microsoft Teams Login Error

Fortunately, there is a way to fix the issue KB454364 update brought. You need to turn on a setting since it’s deactivated by default for ADFS situations. To solve the Microsoft Teams login problem, you can utilize ADFS MMC (Microsoft Management Console) to activate Forms Authentication. Microsoft has listed a method to fix the error:

  • Log in to the machine where the local Active Directory is, and open ADFS MMC;
  • Go to the left panel and choose the Authentication Policies setting;
  • Go to the Actions section from the right side and select the Edit Global Primary Authentication;
  • Choose the Intranet tab option and then click on Forms Authentication;
  • Click OK and save the settings;

After the new settings are applied, Microsoft Teams login will work again.

Windows 10 Update KB4554364 Troubles Microsoft Teams Performance

According to some reports, IT Administrators are currently complaining that devices running Windows 10 version 1903 and version 1909 are facing some login errors after installing KB454364. Notably, users who initially log out from Microsoft Teams got the error code 4c7 when login back. However, the issue appears when people are trying to log into their Microsoft Teams accounts from a network where Microsoft’s Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) is running. So, a login try shows the error: “Modern authentication failed here, but you’ll still be able to sign in. Your status code is 4c7.”
