GTA Online: Rockstar is Deleting Entire Accounts

GTA Online has a staggering amount of players, especially after the Epic Games Store made the game available for free to anyone. The servers are almost always full, and it’s understandable: Rockstar brings regular updates to the online mode of GTA 5 (aka GTA Online), adding new vehicles, rewards, missions, and so on.

But things are far from being all fine and dandy, as the developer Rockstar Games started to fully reset entire accounts of players who are accessing the game from PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The money glitch is the culprit

A recent in-game glitch (aka the apartment glitch) was making a lot of players to gather huge amounts of money very quickly. This behavior wasn’t appreciated by the developers from Rockstar who came up with a drastic solution: wiping out entire accounts and delete all the GTA cash of the players in other cases.

Released way back in 2013, GTA V continues to be highly-playable, even though a lot of people are hoping for GTA 6 to arrive. While following the adventures of Trevor, Franklin, and Michael, there’s a lot of fun stuff to do in GTA 5. The Steam description is very relevant:

When a young street hustler, a retired bank robber and a terrifying psychopath find themselves entangled with some of the most frightening and deranged elements of the criminal underworld, the U.S. government and the entertainment industry, they must pull off a series of dangerous heists to survive in a ruthless city in which they can trust nobody, least of all each other.

GTA V is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC. The game will also be playable on the next-generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, there shall be an enhanced version of the game for the upcoming gears, one that takes better advantage of the consoles’ advanced hardware.
