Probably any Grand Theft Auto fan is eagerly waiting for the next installment of the series to come out, or at least to see some compelling news regarding it. One of the many rumors that have been roaming the internet was that the iconic character Carl Johnson (aka CJ) from GTA San Andreas would make his return in GTA 6. Shawn Fonteno, the voice actor for Franklin in GTA 5, launched this speculation when he said, “We might be bringing CJ back… I just can’t say,”.
While the rumor made GTA fans go insane, the voice actor himself for CJ, Chris Bellard (aka Young Maylay) denied on his Instagram account that he has any implication in the sequel for GTA 5:
To kill the rumors ! Im not involved in GTA VI at all.. Fucc @Rockstargames period.. CJ will have to be voiced by another MF but not me IDGAF what yall heard..
Of course, Young Maylay’s noninvolvement in GTA 6 doesn’t mean automatically that the legendary CJ won’t be coming back at all for the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series. In fact, the American rapper does suggest clearly that CJ will do return for the sequel of GTA 5.
More than one protagonist for GTA 6?
We don’t have to worry that CJ will not fit in the future game, if he returns. Usually in the game series, there has been only one protagonist character, but that changed in GTA 5. Michael, Trevor and Franklin were the three protagonist characters who had to prove how good crooks they are by robbing banks, killing policemen, stealing vehicles, and so on. There are plenty of missions where they have to work together to achieve success, so we could be seeing something similar in GTA 6.
Unfortunately, Rockstar Games hasn’t said anything about the upcoming GTA 6, but it’s only a matter of time until they do. Released back in 2013, GTA 5 assured the gaming studio huge revenues, and maybe that’s why they are settling down and not eager to bring a new Grand Theft Auto game to the fans.
