FIFA 20 Ultimate Team is known for providing some out-of-this-world cards. But sometimes things are getting way out of control even for the FIFA series. That’s precisely what happened with Ben Yedder’s card recently, the striker of both AS Monaco and the French National Team.
EA Sports just revealed the Team of the Season So Far promotional cards for Ligue 1, and Ben Yedder is once again the star of the show. The 97-rated card of the striker makes him even better than Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, and Lewandowski.
Ben Yedder himself admits the awkwardness of the situation
The French footballer made a post on Twitter where he admitted indirectly that he’s not that good as FIFA 20 made him:
How many broken controllers with this one ? 😂😂😂 https://t.co/6dXi3Sk2eU

However, nobody says that Ben Yedder is a bad striker, but he has clearly been overrated a lot by EA SPORTS. And maybe there’s a compelling explanation for this situation: with the world struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, pretty much all football championships had been put on hold. EA SPORTS is not able to provide a realistic card for players as long as they’re not playing. The French Championship Ligue 1, where Ben Yedder is appointed, will be resuming its matches on June 17.
In real life, Ben Yedder is not bad at all as a striker. He’s worth 40 million euros on the transfer market, and there’s no wonder why. The French forward is a scoring machine. He scored 19 goals in 31 matches played for AS Monaco in the last season, the club where he’s been transferred in August 2019. The French club bought the player from FC Sevilla for a fee equal to the transfer market value mentioned above.
Ben Yedder has also been selected within his French National Team, where he started to show some skills. In 8 matches after his debut in 2018, Ben Yedder scored 2 goals. A lot of people want Ben Yedder in the starting XI of France’s matches, but the manager Didier Deschamps still prefers Olivier Giroud instead.
