Dragon Ball Super: 5 Ways to Beat Jiren if Ultra Instinct Goku is Not Around

Without a doubt, Jiren is one of the strongest opponents Goku ever had to face. He may actually be the strongest of all Dragon Ball characters, but no-one from the franchise can really be invincible. Not even Chi-Chi when she gets mad at Goku for getting Gohan to train again and abandon his studies.

Jiren was first introduced in the Tournament Of Power Saga from Dragon Ball Super, and he gave Goku and the gang a lot of headaches. Jiren is presented to be even stronger than a God Of Destruction, and he proved it very well in the tournament. Not even the Spirit Bomb could stop him, and he had a lot of luck for not getting eliminated by Goku’s Ultra Instinct form.

Jiren is not a villain, however. Even though he’s very arrogant, he fought for a good cause in the Tournament Of Power: the survival of his own Universe. But who knows, maybe someday a mad scientist or wizard will take control of Jiren’s mind and command the fighter to attack the good guys. That’s why knowing a few ways of stopping Jiren just in case is a good thing. Let’s get right into it:

5. The fusion between Goku and Vegeta

Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue form could sometimes land a blow to Jiren in the tournament, and a fusion between the two Saiyans means their powers added together and multiplied several times.

However, this method is not 100 percent sure since Jiren also has some cataclysmic power-ups and fighting techniques. Although he did a decent match at his full power against Ultra Instinct Goku, it’s a slight chance that Gogeta or Vegito couldn’t eliminate him from the arena.

4. Several fighters teaming up and battling him simultaneously

It might not be fair, indeed, but it’s a necessary measure if the stake is saving the Earth. Such a scenario was treated several times in the Dragon Ball franchise, and even with Jiren himself as the enemy. Goku, Vegeta, Android 17, and Frieza fought Jiren simultaneously, but the outcome wasn’t actually the desired one. Jiren was beaten by only two warriors, not all four at once.

No matter how powerful a Dragon Ball character is, he should become exhausted and ultimately be defeated if several fighters try to stop him simultaneously.

3. The Mafuba Attack

Master Roshi may be one of the weakest characters in Dragon Ball Super, but he knows an attack that can stop any opponent if he hits him with it. The Mafuba technique can trap the opponent and shrink him to the point that he can fit in a jar and remain there forever. Master Roshi used this technique back in the old days against King Piccolo, but also in the Tournament Of Saga against other opponents.

However, not only the old trainer Master Roshi knows this powerful technique. Tien, Trunks, and Goku also used it in the anime. The great advantage of the Mafuba technique is that it doesn’t matter how powerful the opponent is – if he doesn’t dodge, he’s doomed.

2. Ask the Eternal Dragon to do it

If you gather all seven dragon balls from Earth, Namek, or some other planet, you could simply wish for Jiren’s defeat. The iconic Eternal Dragon should be able to do it for you.

He brought back people from the dead, including Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza. But watch out so that somebody doesn’t revive Jiren with the dragon balls after you killed him with them! The Eternal Dragon never grants the same wish twice!

1. Goku and Frieza teaming up

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best method to beat Jiren, as we’ve seen in the anime itself. It’s the only way they could do it – Goku and Frieza, two sworn enemies teaming up and pushing Jiren out of the arena, sacrificing themselves for the sake of the Universe. Well, Frieza actually had a different motivation, but let’s just forget about that for now.

These are the best methods to beat Jiren if he ever returns to the Dragon Ball franchise. Whis or the Grand Priest wouldn’t do it since they have other occupations instead of fighting, although there’s a good chance for them to be a lot more powerful than Jiren.

But when Jiren returns to Dragon Ball Super, let’s just hope that he will fight for the good side. He isn’t evil, and Goku and the gang could use his tremendous power to stop future villains.
