It’s been five years since the latest Dragon Age game, and fans are expecting since 2017 a return of the franchise created by Canadian developer BioWare. This return is likely to happen after at least three years from now, according to Venture Beat. Of course, it sounds like a very big and unacceptable period of time, but who knows how high the standards in gaming will be in 2022 or 2023? Therefore, it could be worth the wait and Dragon Age 4 may be better beyond any expectations.
The future game began its very early stages of development in May 2017, when writer Alexis Kennedy revealed for an interview for Eurogamer that he was working on a part of the story.
Mark Darrah confirms that Dragon Age 4 is coming
After a long wait and plenty of silence from the developers, Dragon Age 4 has been confirmed to be coming… someday.
“Hey everyone, we have been working on a new Dragon Age game for quite a while now and I am pleased to finally tease the existence of this project,” said Mark Darrah, the executive producer on a BioWare blog post. “While we won’t be sharing any details for now, I can tell you we have been building a new team around a core of Dragon Age veterans, people I’ve worked with on Dragon Age, Jade Empire, and some of whom I’ve worked with since the Baldur’s Gate days.
“I’m so excited to show you more!”

During Game Awards 2018, an announcement regarding the future game was expected. Instead, the audience had the surprise to see a teaser trailer one minut long for Dragon Age 4. The trailer doesn’t say much, but at least we have confirmation from BioWare that the new Dragon Age game is coming. Here you have it:
Every game from the Dragon Age series has had a big emphasis on the story, and we can expect Dragon Age 4 to not be an exception. BioWare general manager Casey Hudson confirmed us what we expected, by saying in a tweet that the future game would be “story & character focused.”.
Let’s just hope our consoles and PC’s will not get too old and unable to run Dragon Age 4 until the game will arrive.
