Blizzard has been hard at work in recent months, and BlizzCon 2019 will be packed with announcements. Some leaks suggest that the world-famous company will announce Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2. The event will begin on November 1, lasting for, days. Those who cannot attend in person have the option to purchase a virtual ticket, which grants access to a wealth of content.
Development
A popular leak mentioned that Blizzard has been working on three games for quite some time. While the development of Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 is going forward without problems, an unannounced StarCraft shooter was canceled, features, and more resources would for the two projects which were mentioned previously.
Absence from Gamescom 2019
Blizzard decided to skip Gamescom 2019, arguing that the main focus is the development of current and future titles. The importance of the show was acknowledged, but the company argued that more information about current projects will be shared in the following months, and it’s quite clear that BlizzCon is the proper occasion.
The Diablo Immortal controversy
Many Diablo fans were angered by the fact that Blizzard decided to showcase Diablo Immortal, a prequel mobile game, during BlizzCon 2018. The feedback from the crowds was negative, as people started to jeer during the presentation, while the speaker tried to highlight the features of the game.
