Gaming has evolved tremendously in the recent years, and you just can’t call yourself a gamer without having a powerful hardware setup to run your favorite titles. However, not anybody who plays games can and wants to be called a gamer. Playing games these days is such a normal activity for all ages.
But speaking for those who are considering themselves to be gamers, a new Black Friday offer brings AMD’s Ryzen 7 3700X at only $299.99 from the B&H Photo store.
4.4 GHz
Without a doubt, AMD’s Ryzen 7 3700X is one of the best CPUs out there, at least when it comes to gaming. It works with AMD’s latest generation Zen 2, and it features eight cores and 16 threads clocked at 3.6GHz, and up to 4.4GHz if needed. The CPU also packs 32MB of L3 cache and a 65W TDP. Those who will buy the processor will also receive a Wraith Prism RGB cooler made by AMD.
Such specs should make your machine run smoothly even the most demanding games from nowadays, like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Far Cry 5, Hitman, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Project CARS 2.
Is it good enough?
Let’s take, for instance, Far Cry 5, a game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft in March 2018. This latest installment of the Far Cry series requires at least an AMD FX-6300 @ 3.5 GHz, an Intel Core i5-2400 @ 3.1 GHz or anything equivalent. Surprisingly enough, the game still works on Windows 7, an operating system that is officially dead since January. Of course, it’s also available for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 (64-bit versions only), and for playing it you also need 8 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 or AMD R9 270 (2GB VRAM and it has to have Shader Model 5.0 or better). Therefore, the octa-core processor from AMD would do his job just well for a game like Far Cry 5.
Of course, in order to take full advantage of the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, you also need good motherboard, graphics card, and other hardware components.
