Avast and AVG Users Will Not Receive Latest Windows 10 Update from Microsoft

Important information for Avast and AVG Antivirus users! Microsoft is implementing a block for the new upgrades of Windows 10. The problem is related to the compatibility of the software. Microsoft is blocking specific versions such as 1909 and 1903 for AVG and 19.54444.567 for Avast. The company is declaring that the upgrade of Windows 10 for these exact versions will be put on hold. This hold will be on until the software is updated.

The company is saying that the measures are for the safeguard of users, so until further updates of the software, their Windows 10 will not receive upgrades. If you are one of the users with the exact versions of Avast and AVG, for securing your Windows upgrade, you must download and install the last version of the programs. If you need more support for the installation process, check out the Avast and AVG pages for proper information.

However, if we are looking in the history of Microsoft, this kind of block for AVG and Avast is practically the first and single time. Even if Microsoft announced the issue now, we have some reports from users that are saying that the problem is from August. The report from August is available for users with version 1903.

Also, Avast is the owner of AVG from 2016. The company is reporting that the problem is for AVG Ultimate 19.5 and the lower versions, for AVG Internet Security 19.5 and below, and AVG AntiVirus FREE 19.5 and below. The Avast versions affected by the block are Avast Premier 19.5 and below, Avast Free Antivirus 19.5 and lower, plus the Avast Premium Security 19.5 and below. Finally, take note that versions 1903, 1909, and 1809 are having the same incompatibility problem because of the Qualcomm Wi-Fi drivers, so Windows 10 updates will stop. If you have these versions of the Qualcomm driver, check for updates.
