Things are not looking too good in the United States regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The country is the most affected from the world by the dreadful disease, as it has over 1.4 million infected people and more than 84,000 deaths, according to worldometers.info. However, over 300,000 of the infected people were recovered, but thousands of daily cases are still appearing.
Remote work is strongly encouraged and even mandatory in many cases, as staying at home as much as possible can drastically reduce the risk of infection with the new coronavirus. But it looks like Apple can afford to return some of its staff back to the offices, as the Cupertino-based giant is planning to do just that according to Bloomberg.
It already began
The same Bloomberg announces that the reopenings have already began, as Apple brought back to the offices some workers who cannot perform their duties from home. Furthermore, the same source claims that Apple told staff to expect that the workers may return to offices globally starting this year in July.
On the other hand, rival companies like Facebook and Google said that their workers won’t be returning to their offices until the end of the current year. It may sound like forever, but specialists believe that it’s the best solution.
From all the American states, New York leads the COVID-19 top with over 350,000 infected people and more than 27,000 deaths. New Jersey is the next state with more than 142,000 cases and a death toll of more than 9,700 people. Illinois occupies the third position with more than 83,000 cases and around 3,600 deaths. Surely the pandemic will go away sooner or later, as the numbers of daily infections and deaths caused by the new coronavirus are decreasing in Europe. But technology and the human desire to progress will last forever.
